En Route to Savannah - En route vers Savannah

We made a decision Tuesday afternoon that the weather was still not what we were looking for to head down the coast. The waves are still 7 to 10 feet and north winds to 20 knots - a little too bumpy for us. Wednesday morning we get going late due to a local bridge that is closed for rush hour traffic until 9AM.

Within an hour the scenery returns to what we are accustomed with South Carolina - lots of grasses, marshes and swamps.

The current and tidal Gods were not with us today as we pushed against them all day. We were able to open the genoa and sail for 50% of the distance today. I was surprised to round a bend in the river and come across three US Navy landing craft in a yard for maintenance.

We finish up the day rather early as we find one of the few spots that we can anchor behind a stand of trees that will break the wind overnight. We are about 20 miles north of Beaufort (phonetically Bufurt!) SC. (N32.32.20 W080.25.00) Our Goal tomorrow is to reach Savannah GA. The weather forecast for Saturday and Sunday is very favourable to get out of the ICW and into the ocean ..... let it be so!!!!!

Nous avons quitté le Mega Dock....
D'un commun accord nous avons décidé nous suivre le ICW étant donné que la température ne s'annonce pas bonne, si ça ressemble à notre aventure sur le Delaware, je passe mon tour et je crois que les autres membres de l'expédition aussi! :-)

Encore des marécages, la route étaient sinueuses bien sûr aver des haut-fonds.
De la belle visite de dauphins durant la journée, je vais bien finir par prendre une bonne photo, je ne désespère pas, je vais bien finir par réussir à prendre une bonne photo. Parlant photo celle Merrill n'est pas mal!

Un ancrage à (N32.32.20 W080.25.00), demain nous serons tout près de Savannah GA. Nous avons rendez-vous avec des amis qui habitent Savannah. J'ai bien hâte de les revoir.

La température pour samedi et dimanche s'annonce favorable pour que l'on fasse le saut via la mer!!!!
