Departure Weekend!!!! Sept 14th - La fin de semaine du 14 septembre, le départ!!!

What a fantastic send-off from a great group of sailing friends. We all got together at thee resto at Treadwell Bay Marina - Diane and Richard from Rodignard, Ben and Nicole from Anticipation, Andre and Marie Claude from Dancing Lizard, Peter unfortunately without Louise from Fretless, Pierre and Diane from Belle et Bum, Andre and Linda from VisionAir, Albert and Guylaine from Sawyer ... thank you so much for the great send off!!!
We left the marina and motored for Shelburne Bay with  waves that really rolled the boat around. Motoring is bad enough but with the mast down, it is rather uncomfortable to say the least. Saturday evening where we enjoyed a great evening with Anticipation and Moonlight. Sunday morning we set out at 8 and pointed our way south. What a fantastic day as we were able to cover more than the 60 miles that got us to to Whitehall and through Lock 12 at the en of the day. Tied to the wall was Sagwa - we had first met Michel and Line at Gosselin in the spring.

Un au revoir chaleureux de la part d’amis au restaurant de la marina à Treadwell Bay, il y avait ma soeur Diane et Richard de Rodignard, Ben et Nicole d’Anticipation, Marie-Claude et André de Dancing Lizard, Peter de Fretless, Loulou son épouse était retenue à  Montréal, Guylaine et Albert de Sawyer, Pierre et Diane de Belle et Bum, André et Linda de VisionAir, à vous tous merci pour cette fabuleuse rencontre, nous apportons dans nos coeurs cette belle soirée.

En matinée du 15 septembre aux alentours de midi, c’est le départ, on quitte la marina escorté par Rodignard, je peux confirmer qu’il y avait beaucoup d’émotion dans l’air.

Marie-Claude et André de Dancing Lizard et les gens du bateau Zulu étaient ancrés à la sortie de la marina, nous saluant et nous souhaitant un bon voyage.

Notre première destination a été la Baie de Shelburne, un souper pot luck à bord du bateau Anticipation en compagnie de Nicole, Ben et de leurs amis. Une belle soirée où les rires et les taquineries étaient au rendez-vous.

Au matin du 16 septembre en route vers le sud du lac, une bonne journée de 60 milles. Whitehall, juste avant l’écluse #12, une belle surprise nous attendait, Michel et Line du bateau Sagwa étaient au quai, ils vont vers le sud tout comme nous. Nous les avions rencontrés au début de la saison à la marina Gosselin.
